Expertise

Tania is a special counsel in our intellectual property and innovation team.

With experience in a tier one firm, as an in-house lawyer at the University of Queensland and in a boutique IP law practice, Tania also has an interest in ethics committees and bioethics, especially the interaction between the law and bioethics as it impacts on scientific endeavour.

Her clients have included public sector agencies, local councils, major banks, property developers and franchisors.

  • Acting in the transition of a key South East Queensland waterways initiative into an incorporated entity.
  • Acting in the establishment of a new unincorporated joint venture to assume responsibility for the annual International Riversymposium.
  • Acting in the establishment of a research institute and network focused on indigenous men’s health issues.
  • Advising on legal structure for parties bidding for funding in the 2009 CRC funding round.
  • Negotiating a major commonwealth procurement contract for the establishment of a national medical register.
  • Advising on the establishment of a number of independent research institutes.
