Expertise

Kerrin heads our intellectual property and innovation team.

Commencing practice in 1993, Kerrin has more than fourteen years experience
as a commercial and intellectual property lawyer having previously worked for a tier one law firm, a boutique intellectual property practice and as an in-house lawyer at the University of Queensland.

She also has international experience, including six months working for an international law firm in Seoul.

Kerrin also sits on the board of the Eidos Institute, a research institute focused on the area of education and social policy.

  • Currently enrolled in a PhD at the Centre for Intellectual Property Research in Agriculture, University of Queensland
  • Admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Courts of Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory and the High Court of Australia

  • Structuring and establishing collaborative research joint ventures between industry, government and public research organisations.
  • Acting for research organisations on the development and commercialisation of technology.
  • Advising on product development, trademarks and licensing.
  • Advising a government entity on legal and risk management issues in commercialising technology.
  • Establishment of technology spin-off and start-up companies.
