We act for clients developing complicated mixed use developments with multiple bodies corporate and related issues, for example, development covenants, through to simple flat land subdivisions.

We have the experience to set up single body corporate schemes through to the most difficult mixed use volumetric subdivisions. We also have systems in place that make bulk developer conveyancing cost-effective and extremely efficient.

Structuring a development is one of the most critical components of the development. Our management rights expertise means that what can be the single biggest saleable asset in the development is set up correctly from the start. Our expertise extends to: 

  • entity structuring and creation;
  • joint venture and partnership negotiations and documentation;
  • financial structuring of developments;
  • site acquisitions and disposals (including due diligence and the like);
  • town planning issues and advice, including litigation as required; and
  • the set up and sale of individual strata lots in the development, together with any commercial or retail components that may be required.

Being able to understand and using innovative development structures is also a key part of setting up a development. Having the right structure allows for orderly disposal of pieces of the development, such as commercial or retail lots, while retaining the rights to other components.
