Amy has extensive experience in property matters and the sale and purchase of businesses (in particular management rights and motel transactions) in Queensland and New South Wales.

As special counsel, Amy has a broad understanding of commercial issues and specific expertise in all facets of property law.

Recent projects

  • Negotiation of management rights contracts and due diligence in relation to the agreements being purchased.
  • Drafted a plain English motel lease which is now widely adopted across Queensland and New South Wales.
  • Drafted and negotiated contracts for the sale of the freehold land and for the sale of the businesses.
  • Acted for a number of bodies corporate involved in enforcement of by-law breaches; the recovery of outstanding levies; the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreement; and the drafting and negotiation of leases and licences.
  • Acted for a number of landlord clients, drafting and negotiating agreements to lease. Clients have included those who were building shopping centres and others with a strip of retail shop leases.
  • Acted for numerous commercial and residential conveyances, involved in all aspects from drafting and negotiating contracts, preparing transfers, preparing assignment documents, duty issues and conducting due diligence searches.
